The Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D is an ultra-wide, rectilinear prime intended to keep distortion low while delivering an expansive full-frame view. At 12mm, it opens up cramped interiors, architecture, landscapes, vehicle work, and energetic perspective-driven shots that a conventional wide lens cannot reach. The f/2.8 maximum aperture also gives the crew more flexibility when working in available light or against a controlled night exterior. Use this lens deliberately: its extremely wide coverage rewards careful foreground placement and close camera positioning, while the rectilinear design helps keep straight architectural lines from taking on an exaggerated curve. It can be a distinctive establishing lens or a practical solution when there is simply no room to move the camera back.
