Inquiry Snapshots is the working portfolio title for a classroom-film series created with C3 Teachers. Production records refer to the work as C3 Snapshots, Snapshots Spec 2025, Inquiry Snapshot October 2024 and C3 Teachers Spec Segments. The films are designed to make inquiry-based social studies visible and useful for educators by following real teachers and students through questions, tasks, sources, evidence and reflection.
The project began with a September 2024 production at Bryan Station High School featuring teacher Christy Cartner. Editorial planning called for Christy’s introduction and debrief to bookend the lesson, with the inquiry blueprint guiding viewers through staging, three supporting questions, source work, transitions and an argument or exit-slip conclusion. The goal was to preserve enough classroom context for educators to understand the process while shaping the material into a focused film.
The 2025 production expanded the series with classroom sessions featuring Christy Cartner, Ryan Lewis, Meghan Hawkins and Hunter Watts in Kentucky and Illinois. A later transcript also documents an inquiry asking, “How does war shape a country’s future?” through World War I case studies, social, economic, political and international effects, collaborative deliberation, source analysis and evidence-based claim writing.
Motion24 served as the production company for the 2025 work and was listed as the agency on the 2024 call sheet. Kathy Swan was producer and director, Alicia Saccomanno served as assistant director, and Gates Sweeney served as director of photography. The documented crew also included John Buckman on camera, Karsten VanMeter as first assistant camera/swing and Gerry Swan as key grip.
The production approach combined complete classroom observation with teacher interviews and lesson materials. Two-camera coverage, layered classroom sound and sustained sequences allowed the edit to show how an inquiry develops rather than reducing the lesson to disconnected highlights. Transcripts, graphics and Inquiry Design Model blueprints provided a structure for explaining the relationship among compelling questions, supporting questions, source analysis, classroom tasks and evidence-based arguments.
The project continued through transcript and review activity in late 2025 and Frame.io review activity in 2026. Those records establish an active, evolving body of work, but they do not establish that every film has been publicly released or finally approved. For that reason, this portfolio record and its representative media remain private pending client and footage-clearance confirmation.
